A large part of the south and south-eastern France remains in orange heat wave this Saturday, according to the latest Météo-France bulletin. Thirteen departments-including Corsica, the Mediterranean perimeter and part of the Rhône-Alpes region-are concerned, while the situation should gradually improve by Monday.
Among the orange alert departments are the Alpes-de-Haute-Provence, the Alpes-Maritimes, the Ardèche, the Aude, the Bouches-du-Rhône, the Drôme, the Gard, the Hérault, the Pyrénées-Orientales, the Var, the Vaucluse, as well as the two departments of Corsica.
Isère, initially on alert, will be released from orange vigilance this Friday evening at 10 p.m. The Alpes-de-Haute-Provence and the Alpes-Maritimes will have to wait until Saturday 6 a.m. to see their level of alert lowered.
Temperatures provided between 33 and 38 ° C
In the south-east, the heat remains intense, with temperatures provided between 33 and 37 ° C, which can even locally reach 38 ° C in the shade. Météo-France underlines that “The subsequent trend is a continuation of the regression of the heat wave, especially from Sunday”with a return to a level of green vigilance for all the departments planned no later than Monday at 6 a.m.
The episode of heat wave that ends will have marked the spirits with its precocity, duration and temperature records recorded in several regions. Wednesday and Thursday were the most trying days for a large part of the country, before a respite expected at the beginning of next week.
