They were two Quebecers to start the season in major baseball. Otto Lopez is still there, but Édouard Julien was sold to the AAA level. It was Abraham Toro who made a noticed return in the major leagues. Where are our Quebecers in the MLB? A brief overview of the state of the forces, while everyone benefits from a few days off before approaching the “hard days of summer” and the last step in the Manfred circuit.
Otto Lopez, Marlins de Miami
Lopez is still the Quebecer in the best situation in major leagues. The pre-champ of the Marlins of Miami began 77 of the 95 games* of the Marlins and participated in 80 games of his family, despite a 10-day stay on the list of the injured.
If its average stick is slightly lower than last year (, 250 against, 270), its means of presence and power are both superior to, 320 and, 392.
Lopez, used more often at the stop-to-turn than in the second cushion this season (47 times against 32), contributes in a very respectable way offensively, with 11 circuits, 48 products produced-already personal peaks-and 41 points counted. He should establish new heights for sure and points counted this season.
It is also very reliable in defense, as its efficiency rates of, 988 at the Cop and, 986 to the second goal, both superior to the average of major leagues (, 978 and 985).
Abraham Toro, Red Sox de Boston
Toro had experienced an excellent camp for the Boston Red Sox. It did not go unnoticed. His excellent start to the season in Worcester (AAA) forced the Red Sox to recall it at the beginning of May, when the first goal Tristan Casas fell in battle for the rest of the season due to a ligament tear with a knee. The pre-champ player and ambidextrous striker has not left the choice for the Red Sox to keep it with the big club since that time.

Abraham Toro
He is in the process of knowing his best season in terms of statistics with offensive means of, 271/, 321/, 418. Used in 52 games, including 44 as well as the first and third goals, the Quebecer has already struck 48 strokes, including 11 doubles, and five circuits. He has produced 20 points so far, in addition to scoring 25.
With Alex Bregman in the third cushion and Casas who will be back next year, the future of Toro in Boston is uncertain. However, he is proving that he can help a team in the MLB.
Édouard Julien, Twins du Minnesota
It was written last March: injuries to regulars at the forefront allowed Julien to initiate the 2025 season in the major. Unfortunately, he failed to seize his luck.
His stay with the Minnesota Twins lasted only 29 games this season, during which he did not demonstrate that he had his place among the 26 best players in his training. Its average offensive medium, 198/, 288/, 319 were clearly insufficient. In 91 officials with official sticks, he collected as many withdrawals on takements (29) as he did not reach the trails, he who hit only 18 strokes and obtained 11 goals on balls.

Édouard Julien
The one who finished seventh in the recruit of the recruit of the year in the American in 2023 found some component at the AAA level, after very difficult beginnings. While his average had dropped below, 200 on June 3, he has just experienced good marble weeks, which allowed him to display averages, 266/, 410/, 447.
Julien also has nine circuits and 28 products produced, in addition to having crossed marble 28 times. If these figures are not sufficient to bring it back on the side of Minneapolis, they could offer him a new chance elsewhere in the MLB.
Miguel Cienfuegos, parents of San Diego
The Lavallois launched the season in the San Diego Padres club network, at AA level, where he won his two decisions and displayed an excellent 1.13 MPM in six games. He was promoted to AAA level in May.
Used mainly as a lifter, it has experienced more difficult moments and displays a 0-2 file with a 5.47 MPM. Looking at his statistics more closely, four more problematic outings (out of 13) explain his statistics. He notably granted eight points, including six deserved, to the isotopes of Albuquerque in three work sleeves at his second departure, on July 2.
CIENFUEGOS, which went through independent baseball, in particular with the capitals of Quebec, before finding affiliated baseball, is however an “old” hope, at 28 years old. The future will tell us if he will be able to straighten the situation to hope to get a chance in San Diego.
Charles Leblanc, autonomous player
After taking part in only 11 games with the Angels of Los Angeles in 2024, Leblanc obtained a contract for the minor leagues from the Braves of Atlanta.

Charles Leblanc
The Quebecer experienced a good training camp, then he was sold, not surprisingly, at the AAA level, he whose name did not appear on the training of the 40 players of the club.
Leblanc did not hurt with an average of, 291 and an average presence on the trails of, 394 in 22 meetings. But he hit only two strokes of more than one goal and his average power was only, 316. Add to that only eight products produced, and you understand better why the brave released it from his contract in early June.
When writing these lines, the other six Quebecers in affiliated baseball played at level A.
