Nathalie is at the end of his nerve

She is disgusted. Nathalie, a resident of the Metropolis of Lyon, had to leave with her spouse towards Puglia, Italy from July 3 to July 10. But due to the strike of air controllers, forcing airlines to reduce their traffic for the day by 30%, its flight was canceled.
“These were our only vacation abroad of the year. We have the balls, ”she explains to News Lyon.

A bad surprise when you wake up

Having heard that a strike was touching Lyon airport, Nathalie still inquired the day before her departure, this Wednesday, July 2. “When I looked at the day before, I saw that he was delayed by 15 minutes. Nothing alarming ”.

But it was upon waking that she had a bad surprise. “The next day, the day of departure, I received an SMS at 1:09 am indicating that my flight was canceled,” she said, disappointed.

“We tried to find an alternative, but from Geneva Airport, flight prices represented double our ticket already paid.”

Hundreds of euros lost

Instead of going on vacation, Nathalie therefore had to try to get her different expenses reimbursed. For two, the flight cost € 440 in return, the two hotels € 695, the rental car € 200 and the travel agency € 228.

In total, no less than € 1563 advanced for two, for a week of vacation in Italy.

The couple therefore started requests for reimbursement. “I hope the flight will be reimbursed, we are pending. For the rental car, it’s good, we will be reimbursed at no cost normally. But the hotels imposed on us 50% of cancellation fees and the travel agency will not reimburse us ”.

In total, The strike cost them € 575.5. But that’s not all.

1000 euros per week at the last minute

Nathalie and her spouse decided to leave anyway, but in France. “We were forced to book at the last minute. And there was nothing below 1000 € per week ”.

Decision is made to go to the Pyrénées-Orientales. But these holidays will definitely have a bitter taste.
