Official recovery place for the automotive branch: closure of the Corcelles site and maintaining activities in La Chaux-de-Fonds

Following the termination of the lease of the Bois-Rond site in Corcelles, the Council of State maintains on a unique site in La Chaux-de-Fonds its public recovery activities for the automotive branch. Several private players continue to offer similar services across the canton.

Lhe canton of Neuchâtel is the only one in Switzerland to offer public places for the recovery of materials from used vehicles. Elsewhere, private players provide these services.

DIn 1975, the state of Neuchâtel operated the Place du Bois-Rond in Corcelles, thanks to a lease convention concluded with the former municipality of Corcelles-Cormondrèche. But, in view of the important investments to be made there, respectively from the termination of the lease, the Council of State will close the Bois-Rond site at the end of August 2025 and will continue its activities on the Ferlets site in La Chaux-de-Fonds, which he owns.

SI Recovery activities for the state automotive branch allow everyone to deposit their vehicle out of use in an official place for free, it is important to specify that private companies also carry out this service across the canton. Indeed, the professionals of the automobile and certain companies active in the recovery of metals and other materials, such as tires, can also resume and enhance cars and carcasses of automobiles.
