Separate the applicants from recalcitrant asylums in separate centers does not work. This is the observation of the Secretary of State for Migration. In the future, the 50 to 100 applicants posing problem each year should stay in the classic federal reception centers, but separately.
According to the Secretary of State for Migration, Vincenzo Mascioli, there should no longer be a specific federal asylum center in the future for recalcitrant asylum applicants. “It turned out that it does not work with special centers,” said Vincenzo Mascioli in an interview published Friday by Neue Zürcher Zeitung (NZZ).
The State Secretariat for Migration (SEM) plans to separate recalcitrant people, but to accommodate them in existing or in close proximity asylum centers. A pilot project is provided for this purpose, but it is unknown where it will be held. Each year, 50 to 100 asylum applicants are problematic.
Closure of the Neuchâtel Special Center

A second special center of this type was to open in German -speaking Switzerland, but in the face of oppositions, the State Secretariat for Migration has renounced.
The SEM has operated the Special Center for Verrières since December 2018. It temporarily houses the applicants returned from other federal centers because of their behavior. On average, between five and ten people are hosted there simultaneously.
