As vacation approaches, 2p students from the Crêts school are working on a classic at the end of the year: the manufacture of crowns for schools. This year, the chosen theme has a familiar taste: Switzerland.
This morning, the 2p of the Crêts school have a last important mission before the long holidays: to make their crown for the school party. “I’m making a mountain with snow,” says Sviatolsav.
In the classroom, the ideas are fused to create cardboard mountains worthy of the most beautiful peaks. “I make hearts.” “I do snakes …” “Me, a unicorn!” Around their beautiful mountains, children add cows, edelweiss or Swiss flags, cut and colored by them … sometimes in a very personal version.
Switzerland: its cows, its chocolate and … its strawberries
The theme of the party is of course Switzerland. A choice acclaimed at the start of the year: a theme that is both gourmet and familiar, which immediately speaks to the imagination of children. “Chocolate, cows …” Slides Aelia. “My family who lives in Switzerland!” Adds Mariana. “Strawberries!” Offers his girlfriend.
The manufacture of crowns is an expected moment, both by students and by teachers. A joyful parenthesis, between year that ends and long holidays. A small ritual that counts in the life of the class. “It’s an important moment,” insists Tania Zerbini, the teacher of this class of Petit-Saconnex. “It marks the end of the school year, and also the end of the first 2 years of school that we have spent together.”
A few more divisions, a lot of glue and concentration: the crowns will be ready for the party in the Bastions Parc. Holidays can start!
