The Canton of Geneva gives up almost four hectares to the city of Carouge for 3 million francs. Signed Thursday, the agreement will allow the Sardinian city to redevelop, in September, the battle-tapes sector, with the development of the public park and the improvement of mobility.
(Keystone-ATS) The operation includes the transfers of the battle park with its two hectares of greenery near Rondeau and the central plot of the district, said the Department of Geneva territory and the city of Carouge. This plot will include the central square, which will be vegetated to accommodate play and relaxation spaces, and public neighborhood equipment.
The land agreement was ratified after several years of negotiations and a major citizen mobilization, the two parties are. Shortly after the arrival of the first inhabitants at the Tambourine in the early 2000s, the population and the neighborhood association launched petitions asking to improve mobility, security and living spaces.
Result: the localized district plan of 1986 was revised and replaced in 2018 by a new PLQ which includes developments intended to finalize the sector. A second step of land regularization concerns rights -of -way of private plots. The discussions continue with the owners with a view to the full redevelopment of the district by 2030.
