At first, temperatures will start by increasing in the west of the province. The humidity will also shout loud and clear: “present”! But beware, here it is: for Sunday, it will be the big heat, nothing less, in southern Quebec. What does that mean, concretely? “With the humidx index, we are talking about temperatures felt from 40 to 43 for the extreme south of the province on Sunday afternoon. The regions of the Laurentians and the Capitale-Nationale should not be outdone either, with feelings of 38, ”says Patrick Duplessis.
This important atmospheric humidity will have two consequences that will not go unnoticed: the nights will be warmer and stormy development is to be expected. A risk of thunderstorms is indeed to be monitored for the days of Sunday and Monday, in several sectors in the south of the province.
This type of mercury can remind us of the good heat push that several sectors of Quebec have known for national holidays, on June 23 and 24. If your memory tends to be selective, your air conditioner, it probably remembers it!
Summer temperatures: Montreal looks good
Since the start of the summer season, an observation can be made, at least so far: the heat is quite present in Montreal. “If we look at the days with a humidx of 35 and more and those with feelings of 40 and more, the metropolis has already known almost double,” observes Patrick Duplessis.
